Privacy Policy

1. What this covers

This policy explains what information Therapy Companion (“we”, “us”) collects when you use our AI voice companion service, how we use it, and the choices you have. The short version: your conversations are yours. They are transmitted encrypted, used only to run the service for you, and never used to train AI models.

2. Information we collect

  • Account information — your email address and, if you sign in with Google, the basic profile Google shares with us.
  • Companion preferences — the choices you make when shaping your companion (her name, your name, conversation style, topics, and anything you choose to tell her about yourself).
  • Call data — call audio and transcripts, processed to hold the conversation in real time. Brief factual notes from your conversations are kept so your companion remembers you between calls; you can ask us to erase them at any time.
  • Billing information — handled by our payment providers. We receive confirmation of payment and subscription status, never your card number.
  • Usage data — basic technical logs (call duration, device/browser type, errors) needed to bill fairly and keep the service working.

3. How we use it

  • to provide and personalize your companion and her memory of your conversations;
  • to meter minutes and process subscriptions and top-ups;
  • to secure the service, prevent abuse, and fix problems;
  • to send you service emails (sign-in, receipts, important changes).

We do not sell your personal information, we do not show ads inside the service, and we do not use your conversations to train AI models.

4. Who we share it with

Only the service providers we need to run Therapy Companion: cloud hosting, database and authentication, real-time voice and AI processing, payment processing, and transactional email. Each provider receives only what it needs to do its job and is bound by its own confidentiality and data-protection obligations. We may also disclose information if the law requires it.

5. Retention

We keep your information while your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete your companion, preferences, and conversation memory, and retain only what we must for legal and accounting purposes (for example, payment records).

6. Security

Calls and data are encrypted in transit. Access to production data is restricted, and conversation memory is never exposed to other users. No system is perfectly secure, but we design so that the sensitive parts — your conversations — stay between you and her.

7. Your rights

You can access, correct, or delete your information — including your companion's memory of you — by emailing hello@therapycompanion.io from your account email. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local privacy law (such as the GDPR), and we will honor them.

8. Cookies and local storage

We use only what the service needs to function: authentication cookies to keep you signed in, and browser local storage to hold your onboarding choices before you create an account. No third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

9. Age requirement

The service is for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18; if we learn we have, we delete it.

10. Changes

If we change this policy in a material way we will give notice before the change takes effect. The date at the top always reflects the latest version.
