Terms of Service

1. About the service

Therapy Companion (“the Service”, “we”, “us”) provides voice conversations with AI companions. Every companion is an artificial intelligence — not a real person. Despite the name, the Service is not therapy: it is not medical care, mental-health treatment, or professional counseling of any kind, and it is not a substitute for them. If you are struggling, please reach out to a licensed professional or a local crisis line.

By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority where you live, if higher) to use the Service. By using it you confirm that you meet this requirement.

3. Your account

You are responsible for your account and for keeping your sign-in method secure. Provide accurate information and let us know if you believe your account has been compromised. We may suspend or close accounts that violate these Terms.

4. Subscriptions, minutes, and billing

• The Service is sold as a subscription that includes a monthly allowance of call minutes, with optional one-time top-up minutes. Current prices are shown at checkout.
• Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until canceled. You can cancel anytime from your account; your plan stays active until the end of the period you already paid for, and no further charges are made.
• Unused plan minutes reset at each renewal and do not roll over. Top-up minutes do not expire while your account is in good standing.
• Payments are processed by third-party payment providers; we do not store your card details. Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable.
• Prices may change; we will inform you before a renewal at a new price.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• use the Service for anything unlawful, or to harass, defraud, or harm others;
• attempt to breach, probe, or overload our systems, or access accounts or data that are not yours;
• reverse engineer the Service or resell access to it;
• impersonate another person when using the Service.

6. AI-generated content

Conversations are generated by artificial intelligence. They may be inaccurate, incomplete, or fictional, and nothing a companion says is professional advice — medical, legal, financial, or otherwise. Do not rely on the Service for decisions that matter; verify important information independently.

7. Intellectual property

The Service — including its software, design, companion characters, and branding — belongs to us or our licensors. We grant you a personal, non-transferable license to use it as intended. You keep the rights to information you provide to us.

8. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

9. Termination

You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these Terms. Upon termination, sections that by their nature should survive (including disclaimers and limitations of liability) survive.

10. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If a change is material we will give notice — for example by email or in the app — before it takes effect. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
